Toasted Head, 2008, Chardonnay, California

Toasted Head, 2008, Chardonnay, California
Price - $11 per bottle

Nice golden color. The nose had bright citrus tones. The citrus was also present on the taste buds, along with a buttery finish. We had the chardonnay with a chicken and leek stew. We found the recipe in the Wine and Food magazine. The chardonnay was well paired with the stew.

We will purchase again.

Primarius, Pinot Noir, 2007, Oregon

Primarius, Pinot Noir, 2007, Oregon
Price $15 per bottle

Cherry is the word for this wine. It was cherry red, the nose was cherry and bold cherry flavors were present when tasted. The texture was very smooth.

I will be looking for additional Oregon Pinot Noirs to try.

Mark West, 2009, Pinot Noir

Mark West, 2009, Pinot Noir
Price $10 per bottle

We have had this wine before at the Lamplighter restaurant and we like it then. The wine has a dark red color and good clarity. The nose is a vibrant aroma of fruit and berries. A cherry tone comes through when the wine is tasted. The wine is smooth, the tannins are low. There is a little alcohol on the finish. The Pinot Noir went well with the Honey Balsamic Chicken we had for diner.

We will buy again.

Lost Vineyards, Vinho De Mesa Tinto, Portugal

Lost Vineyards, Vinho De Mesa Tinto, Portugal
Price - $3 per bottle

This is a Portuguese red table wine. The wine was red in color and the clarity was good. It has a fruity nose. I could taste some raspberry tones. Tannins were present be they were mild and only noticed at the end of the sip of wine. I drank the bottle of wine over four evening, with several different types of food. It when best with the cheese and crackers. I enjoy the wine and would purchase again.
