Tenuta Rapitala, Nero D’Avola, Campo Reale, 2008, Sicilia

Tenuta Rapitala, Nero D’Avola, Campo Reale, 2008, Sicilia
Price - $10 per bottle (I think)

This is a full body wine with lots of fruit taste. We had this with pasta and red sauce. Tannins were evident on the back pallet. After dinner with some cheese and cracker the tannins were not as apparent. We recap and will finish the bottle tomorrow.

Langhe, 2008, Nebbiolo, Barbaresco, Italy

Langhe, 2008, Nebbiolo, Barbaresco, Italy
Price - $17 per bottle

This is a nice smooth wine, medium body. The bouquet had nice tone of fruit, that carried over to the palette when drank. The taste of the wine lingered on the pallet; this allowed me to enjoy the wine with small sips over a long time period. We paired the Nebbiolo with butternut squash and brochette, with I had some chocolate to try with it.

I would repurchase again.

Cleavage Creek, 2005, Tracy Hills, Cabernet – Syrah, Nice, California

Cleavage Creek, 2005, Tracy Hills, Cabernet – Syrah, Nice, California
Price - $9 per bottle

Excellent wine, it had a fruit taste with a hint of floral on the palette. The wine was fully body and smooth. We had this with a home made pizza. The pizza was made with fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions and mozzarella cheese on top of a pizza crust. Both the wine and the pizza had a fresh natural taste and feeling to them. I purchased this wine after watching Budge Brown on the Wine Library web show. You should visit the Cleavage Creek website to see their full story.

Bartenura, 2000, Chardonnay, Piemonte, Italy

Bartenura, 2000, Organic Chardonnay, Piemonte, Italy
Price - $8 per bottle

This wine was to sweet for my taste. Maybe it was because I was expecting something closer to a California Chardonnay. After one glass we recorked the bottle. We will use it as a cooking wine.
